Paper industry is the largest consumer of Sodium Sulfite products. Sodium Sulfite is one of the most important pulping methods in papermaking industry, especially suitable for non-wood pulping. The advantages of this pulping method are light color, less consumption of bleaching agent and other chemicals, and the waste liquid can be recycled to produce a variety of by-products. Sodium sulfite anhydrous used in alkali wheat straw cooking, the pulping yield is obviously improved, slurry foam less, good filtration, easy washing, water saving, reduce power consumption. Slurry beating degree is reduced, fiber strength is good, easy to make paper. The color of the paste is light, easy to bleach and reduce the amount of chlorine. At 160℃, 20%(mass) Sodium Sulfite showed excellent delignification effect on bagasse and fiber separation ability, and the delignification rate reached over 48% after 30min.
With the continuous development of papermaking industry, secondary fiber recycling is highly valued by the papermaking industry, which can not only save the cost of papermaking, but also save forest resources, reduce energy consumption, and is conducive to environmental protection. SSA is a good deinking agent, which plays a role in the deinking to prevent the pulp from yellowing, and the deinking of sodium sulphite under weak alkaline conditions is more favorable for the removal of ink. In the absence of surfactant, disintegrate at 10% slurry concentration, adding 2% sodium sulfite has obvious effect. Neutral sodium sulfite is used to deink the old newspaper, and the amount of sodium sulfite is 3% ~ 4%, which can obtain good deinking effect, reduce the pollution load of wastewater, and is beneficial to the later treatment of wastewater.
